Multiple opportunities for airports in Africa
At the 8th Annual Africa Airport Expansion Summit, taking place in Accra, Ghana, from 19-20 February 2020, Africa’s airport market and its multiple opportunities are being discussed. Lufthansa Consulting is attending the summit represented by the company’s Associate Partner and Head of Market Africa and Indian Ocean, Catrin Drawer. Catrin is looking forward to share her experience and views within a speech called “Growth drivers for regional airports: realizing the full investment potential of emerging markets”.
During the event civil aviation specialists like transport authorities, investors, airports owners, airlines and air traffic experts are coming together with architects, construction companies, equipment providers, technology vendors and service groups to talk about the rise of the economic development in African regions. As this development is also affecting tourism or investment purposes, more than nearly a hundred airport projects are expected to be developed in the future years all over the continent to satisfy the transportation need.
With this summit, the West Africa region aviation industry wants to emphasize the current infrastructure gap. Therefore, Ghana’s government hopes for private sector help to re-develop its air transport infrastructure to build capacity, including the construction and rehabilitation of airports, runway development, purchasing of airport vehicles and new airline routes that will support the air traffic growth and improve services.
